DCC systems are used to operate locomotives on a model railroad (railway).
Equipped with DCC, locomotives on the same electrical section of track can be independently controlled. While DCC is only one of several alternative systems for digital model train control, it is often misinterpreted to be a generic term for such systems.
Several major DCC systems component as follow :
Throttle
The throttle is control box to tell the engine what to do.
Power Supply
AC/DC The power supply is a device to convert AC power to DC low voltage power. Size of Power supply depend on what kind of scale you are operating.
Command Station
The command station or the computer is maintain communication between throttle to decoder.
Booster
The booster or power station is responsible for combining the intelligence from the command station with the power supply.
Decoders
Decoders is the brains of the locomotive. Each decoder is programmed with a unique address.
